Iran Waives Visa Requirement for 28 Countries
With effect from 4 February 2024 ordinary passport-holders from 22 countries traveling to Iran for tourism purposes are exempt from visa requirements.
According to the new visa waiver scheme, visitors from designated countries may enter Iran every six months (twice a year) and stay for 15 days upon each entry. The 15-day stay may not be extended and visitors intending to stay longer shall apply for a visa. The designated countries are as follows: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tunisia, Tanzania, Mauritania, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Seychelles, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Cuba, Vietnam, Cambodia, Brunei, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus, and India. As for Indian passport holders, the waiver applies exclusively to those entering Iran by air.  It is worth reiterating that the waiver applies only to ordinary passport holders who travel for tourism purposes, and that visits for other purposes require visas.
